keynote Thingscon

On the 15th of December, I joined the annual ThingsCon event powered by CLICKNL, with a keynote talk titled ‘Oops: we did it again!’, on the unintended consequences of AI.

ThingsCon 2023 overview

With a bit of sarcasm, I tried to bring a critical perspective to the conference program, highlighting how as designers, engineers, researchers, and other professionals involved in AI development or deployment, we can’t just ‘make things and see what happens’ as the consequences of such approach could be tragic. I also provided a brief overview of our responsibilities and possibilities of action in this space.
