panel on Safety & Normative Behaviors

I recently had the pleasure to join the workshop on Safety and Normative Behaviors at RSS Conference, organized by Sanne van Waveren.

I was invited to join a thought-provoking panel discussion along with Leila Takayama, Andrea Bajcsy, Malte F. Jung, Morteza Lahijanian, Tariq Iqbal — moderated by David Abbink. The debate ranged from ‘creativity from constraints’ to ‘customized crosswalks’ and underscored how hard it is to establish priorities around safety and norms in human-robot interaction design.
