workshop at Domus academy

I recently had the pleasure to join Giovanni Caruso’s course on Embedded AI Hardware at Domus Academy, in Milan.
I run a mini-bootcamp on my work around magic in AI design, based on a paper presented at CHI2024. This bootcamp first explored how to render everyday things magical when embedding AI capabilities, and then "unmake" the magic by revealing the hidden mechanisms underlying AI functionality. By doing so, the workshop encouraged students to develop a sensitivity to the intertwining of AI behaviours and magical thinking, ultimately fostering a culture of responsibility in designing AI products and their communication.
